My first post for 2008!

2007 - The year in review:

The past year was a roller coaster ride for me. I've been through tough times last year. Those difficult times showed me who my real friends are. It strengthened our friendship more. 2007 was a tough year not only for me but also for some of my friends. I'm glad that we stayed with each other. The past year also taught me many lessons - lessons that made me a stronger and wiser person. I had to let go some persons who once became an important part of me. Though I had to lose them, I met new friends last year. Friends that helped me move on and bring back the smile on my face.

The past year also was a memorable one for me because we toured the beautiful places in Europe - Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. A dream come true for me. I was also lucky to celebrate my birthday on tour and it was in the beautiful and romantic city - Paris! That was one memorable birthday celebration!

2008 - New Year!

I look forward to a blessed year for me, my family and friends. =)

This is the only season where 2 won games is better than 3 and a 2 game sweep is better than a 14 game sweep! I'm glad that i was able to watch the game live at Araneta. It was all worth it!

this may be the only time that two is better than three...

this is indeed a sweet victory to the lasallian community. even if we lost thrice to ateneo, we won in the games that mattered most. it was like UAAP championship game in araneta because of the jam-packed crowd. the estimate crowd was 23,315 and that is, according to the news, among the biggest drawn by any basketball game at the big dome. i remember exactly 3 years ago when we won the game three of the UAAP finals vs FEU. the date was also september 30.

i received a text message from a fellow lasallian...
"life is not all about your wins and losses. sometimes you encounter depressing failures and disappointing defeats along the way. your tribulations may be more than your success but its how you end your battle that is more important. we have to win when it matters most.

due to insistent public demand, i'm back. :D

time really flies fast! it's already months since i've updated this blog.

i became busy after the European tour that's why i don't post usually. i became busy with job hunting since i resigned from my previous job for the tour which i do not regret. :D good thing, i got a new job immediately. i was supposed to start last june 25 but i begged off since i still need to fix documents i need for the new job. my first day july 2 in thomson financial. :)

i cannot update my blog in the office unlike in technistock since blogspot is blocked. also, i don't have time to blog in the office due to heavy workload. usually i'm already tired when i arrive home, i just check mails at chat a little.

what to expect in my blog in the next days? i will post about the different cities i've been in europe.

sorry because it took a long time before i posted another entry here in my blog. been busy with choir matters and others. (actually, i am really lazy to post. hehehe)

i'm talking about my new found love - photography. i really have an interest in photography ever since. my aunt owns a SLR camera. she gave it to me when i was still in elementary before she entered the convent. now, it's with my other aunt and i plan to use it to someday. now, my aunt bought a new camera - canon ixus 60 - but i'm the one using it. hehe. she invited me to attend a photography seminar in her office. i attended one session last saturday but i wasn't able to finish it due to other commitments.

i tried the camera last weekend - first at a birthday party, second at intramuros. aside from the photography seminar, i have three mentors. a fellow canon user and a DSLR owner, kuya jerome, gave some tips in taking pictures at night. he also gave me tips in some settings of the camera. another canon user - kuya earl -teaches me with camera settings (thanks to the photo sharing feature of yahoo messenger. even if he's in singapore, he still can critique my shots). i went to intramuros last sunday with rex to practice the camera at night. he gave a crash course on photography since he is a multimedia arts graduate. here are some of the pics we took:

the first & fourth images was taken by rex. second, third and fifth images by me. i hope to enroll in a photography class or seminar someday to learn more about it. but for now, i wish to thank the three persons mentioned above for sharing their knowledge to me. :)

i've been busy with many things the past days. i kept myself busy to help me forget things that happened the past weeks. i accepted a project which kept me busy from saturday night to monday afternoon. i felt like a college student again. it was really draining and we were really relieved when we finished it.

next week will be the start of holy week. for the past 7 years, i was always busy during this time of the year due to my involvement in our church choir. we rehearse almost everyday during holy week because we sing in 2 masses (washing of the feet mass & easter sunday salubong). this year will be different since i won't be actively involved in the parish activities due to other commitments.

i went to st. andrew's school this morning to attend my brother's graduation. if my memory serves me right, it was also march 28 when we graduated from elementary 11 years ago. there were a lot of changes in school. this is my first time to enter the new building because the graduation ceremonies was held at the new gym. during our time, graduation was held at the church. it starts with a mass then the graduation ceremonies follow. there were really a lot of changes in school (from the administrators, faculty, staff, school grounds, rules and many more) from the time we graduated from high school 5 years ago. but it is still the the school that i called my home for 10 years. :)

today is the feast of St. Joseph and i heard mass this noon at the edsa shrine. i have a special devotion to St. Joseph because I was named after him.

the gospel today is fit for my situation. i can say that i can somewhat relate to the situation of St. Joseph in today's gospel. the priest gave a very meaningful homily. he talked about how we plan things. at the start of the day, we usually plan what to do for the day. but sometimes, what we plan doesn't push through and we ask God "Why?". he said we should change our question to "What?" we should ask God what are His plans and He allowed these things to happen. we should trust Him in His plans for us...

i went out with my high school friends last Saturday at MOA. we had a good time eating dinner and halo-halo at razon's. (for pictures visit rowjie's blog). it was nice seeing them again. the past week was really difficult for most of us but we were able to get through those difficult moments with each other. i want to thank them all for staying beside me when i needed them the most and for giving really good advices. i also want them to know that i'm also here for them. again, thank guys! (esp. johnjan for the halo-halo!)

i thought you are a friend. when you needed me, i stood by you. i gave you all the help and support that you needed. i stood by you, willing to sacrifice for you. but now, the time i needed you the most, you never even dared to ask how i am and what was wrong even if it shows in my face that i've been going through something. you never showed your concern for me.

i do not expect you to reciprocate all the things i did for you but a simple message from you asking me how i am, will help me feel better. that is enough for me to believe that you are there for me.

maybe it is really better this way. i just have to accept the fact that things are not meant to be. i have to let go and move on even if these things are the hardest to do.

i know it will take time before i can say that i completely healed but i am willing to wait with the help of God.

i really do not feel good the past days and it really shows in my face. there were many things that happened the past days that burdened me. people are asking me why i am so quiet recently and i'm not my usual self. i really can't hide my feelings because it affected me a lot. i'm deeply hurt and i don't know when i will get over this. this is my first time to encounter this situation and i really don't know what to do.

i've been carrying this burden for the past five days. i can't work properly. sometimes i feel ok but most of the time, especially when i am alone, i really feel bad. i want to cry but i can't. i really wish i'm like the others who cry easily because they can release their feelings most of the times. but in my case, it is really difficult.

i want to thank my friends for their concern for me. for giving me their time and listening to me. it really means a lot to me.

today is single awareness day aside from valentine's day. hehehe. nothing special for me this day. just the usual wednesday stuff - choir rehearsal and baclaran church. my 21st valentine's day without a 'special someone'. yes, i'm single since birth. hehehe.

i have lots of office work to finish before march 15 aside from ACM projects, duties and responsibilities. our department hired 2 new employees - darwin & carol - and we have to train them. both are also from DLSU, ID 102 and from CBE. carol received a dozen of roses from her boyfriend this morning and i realized how expensive it is to celebrate this day with your special someone (kuripot lang talaga ako. ok?).

well... i'm back after months of hibernation. hehehe. i had problems accessing blogger here in the office the past weeks. sayang. those were the days na sinisipag ako magsulat. i tried the blog of multiply pero, tamad talaga ako magsulat. hehehe. i just want to read blogs.

i'm sleepy right now because of the medicine i took a while ago for my colds. i have colds for almost two weeks already. this caused me to lose my voice and have a sore throat the past days two days. i consulted an ENT doctor yesterday at makati med (thanks to our healthcare provider!) and she told me that the sore throat was caused by colds. she gave me an antibiotic (again!) and nafarin. i really hate drinking medicines ever since i was a kid. my parents and my aunt always have difficulty making me drink my medicines. i hate capsules. i started drinking medicines in capsules recently. before i dilute it and mix sugar para di mapait. hehehe. this is my fourth month of taking antibiotics after my flu vaccine expired. whew! i really need another shot of anti-flu!

monday pa lang yata maulan na. hanggang ngayon, maulan pa rin. yesterday, classes were suspended. tapos last night malacañang declared na walang pasok ngayon in all levels. hay. sana student pa rin ako. hehe.

yesterday, tamad na tamad akong pumasok, ang lakas kasi ng ulan, ang sarap pa matulog. hehehe. pero kailangan eh. papasakay pa lang ako ng jeep, basa na yung pants ko. kasi malakas na yung ulan, may hangin pang kasama. san ka pa?! buti na lang early dismissal kami kahapon. 5:30 ang usual na uwian pero mga 5pm pwede na umuwi. sana nagpa late na lang ako! hmp!

i watched the homecoming concert of the philippine madrigal singers (madz) last tuesday night with fellow acm members. considering it was a tuesday, i didn't expect that the ccp main theater will be full. iba talaga ang madz. hanggang balcony 2 puno. iba kasi ang tunog ng choirs after tour. mas kapit yung tunog. syempre, concerts almost everyday tapos kayo-kayo pa yung magkasama for several weeks, ewan ko lang kung hindi pa kumapit yung tunog. hehe.

they chose the date july 11 because it is ma'am oa's birthday, the founder of the madz. they also launched their fifth album entitled 'acclamation'. the tracks in the cd are mostly religous and inspirational songs. i got my copy about a month ago.

the concert repertoire includes songs they sang during the competition, songs from their new cd and different folk songs from the countries they visited. i love the song 'comme d'habitude' (as always). grabe, i like their rendition. pati yung soloist, ang galing. excited na tuloy ako sa next concert nila - madzitawanan on october 1. hehe.

lazy monday

waah. i'm not in the mood for work today. i just dragged myself here in the office. wish i had something excting to look forward this day.

yesterday was also a lazy day for me. i just stayed at home and watched tv, vcd and dvd.

i 'm looking forward to the homecoming concert of the madz tomorrow at ccp main theater. i heard they really sound beautiful after the competition. sana tuesday afternoon na ngayon. hmp!

korean wave 2

let's 'review' my favorite korean movies. thanks to 3 glasses of iced tea, it kept me awake this afternoon. :p

a moment to remember - this movie made me cry bucket of tears. hehe. hindi ako iyakin pero iyak ako ng iyak while watching the movie. it's a love story about a contruction worker turned architect and his wife who was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease at an early age of 27. great cinematography and good actors.

windstruck - the first korean movie i saw. it also made me cry. if you want to watch 'my sassy girl' you have to see this film first.

il mare - before 'the lakehouse' and 'moments of love' may 'il mare' na. great cinematography. i can say the sea is better than the lake. hehehe.

the classic - another beautiful korean movie. it has a different twist compared to other love stories.

3-iron - at first i didn't know the title of the movie because there are no english translation on the dvd cover. it is a 'silent movie' because the 3 actors have no dialogues until the end of the movie. their emotions and facial expressions are very powerful.

i admit, i am a korean movie/series addict. i just finished 'my girl' series last night. i finished watching around 1am and that makes me sleepy today.

these are the exact words my friend asked. after reading that phrase, i started to cry. the sadness, confusion that kept me awake till dawn, i now am free to release it. kaso nga lang i'm here in the office. i ran to the restroom and cried. when i came back, i began to open my problems to my friend. i now feel better but still, i'm not ok. but i'm trying...

since i'm not really good in english, i'll write both in english and tagalog. baka hindi nyo maintindihan yung english ko kasi eh. hehehe. i'm more comfortable in expressing myself in tagalog.
